Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Degree College, Takipur was announced in the year 2015 by Govt. of Himachal Pradesh keeping in view the academic needs of the people of this part of rural area (Changer Area) of Dist.Kangra HP. The foundation stone laying ceremony for construction of the new building of the college took place on September 7, 2015 since its establishment college is serving for humanity and working for women’s empowerment through education.
Presently, BA, B. Com and B.Sc. Medical and Non-Medical programs are offered by our college. The College has its own building, having excellent infrastructural facilities,library with recent editions of books and magazines,well equipped labs, indoor recreational student centre, virtual class rooms, play fields, rooms for various clubs and societies, canteen facility, clean and green campus, better mentor and mentees ratio. The web of learning has been designed in such a manner that everyone gets opportunity to show his/her talent.NSS unit has been successfully startedworking from 2022. Rover Ranger unit is also functional, recently college has adopted Rihalkar village under Gram Panchayat,Takipur for its socio-economic upliftment.Parent teacher association has also been constituted and is contributing for better learning condition in the college. Alumni association has also been formed and all thestakeholders has been actively working for college progression.
We have well qualified teaching faculty in all disciplines/ streams. Our college is progressing forward with its vision and mission to achieve new heights of excellence.Our adherence to the karma theory of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta strives usinto the realms of self-realization through strenuous hard work, and self-belief.It creates an atmosphere of positive thinking and confidence thus helps to achieve academic goals and professional success.
